MR. BLACKITH & blueprint ✓ MR. MAYNARD C O P Y R.{Sir Henry Royce} A.{Mr Adams} LISTER & CO., LTD., DURSLEY. Ref: BRJ/EBB 26th October, 1938. Messrs. Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd., Lymington, Hants. Dear Sirs, Aluminium Tin Bearings. Further to our discussion with Mr. Howlett at the Motor Show on the 19th instant, we are enclosing a blueprint 201/5 showing the big end bush of a small Diesel unit operating with an overhung crankpin. The Whitemetal-Steel lined bush has given us some trouble by cracking at the upper end. The crankpin is chromium planted - ground and polished to a diameter of 2" -.002" -.0025" The R.P.M. ranges up to 1500. Lubrication is by splash. We gathered from Mr. Howlett that it might be profitable to try out this bearing in your Aluminium Tin Alloy. We shall be glad therefore to have your quotation for two bearings and also an indication as to prices for large quantities say 1000 sets. We are, Yours faithfully, R.{Sir Henry Royce} A.{Mr Adams} LISTER & CO. LTD. | ||
