For the attention of Mr. C.Ward.

Dear Sirs,

Mr. Evenden has handed your letter of the 2nd. inst. to the undersigned, in view of the conversations which took place with Mr. Green and yourself last Friday concerning Rexine.

The samples shown to you have been submitted to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} who has asked the writer to send them to you, so that you may order sufficient for at least 1 body, of each of the 4 samples received, and the corresponding hides from Messrs. Conolly, who is prepared to produce a better match than is shown on their samples, although this will take a few weeks to carry out.

We have written to both Messrs. I.C.I. Rexine Ltd. (Mr. Whitehead) & Messrs. Conolly's. (Mr. Hussey) explaining that you will very shortly be ordering the materials from them, and have asked Messrs. I.C.I. to reserve the necessary rexine as their stocks of these colours and grains are very low.

It is felt that, with the exception of the green, the samples of hides submitted will be suitable for experimental work, without alteration, but that a green hide much closer in appearance to the green rexine is necessary. Please arrange to return these samples to us when you have finished with them.

It has not yet been definitely decided where rexine shall replace hide, except of course for the doors, but a schedule of this is being prepared, and will be
