To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to RJ. RG.{Mr Rowledge} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} L. c. to EY. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} ORIGINAL. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG22. 6. 26. 48920 49410 EAC.1. Phantom with semi elliptic rear springs [s]Controlling Axle.[/s] We are sorry to say that we have been delayed in bringing this car to WW. The D.O. have had great difficulty in finding a suitable position to fix the hydraulic dampers to the rear of this car. As one of the chief points of interest is the springing of this car compared with the present standard 40/50 HP., we think itxx is necessary that efficient dampers should be fitted before it is judged. We are sending to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} the proposed scheme for fixing the rear dampers. The other point of interest on this car is the sequence starter. All the parts for this are now practically completed but we are anxious to see that it functions correctly before we bring it to WW. This car is arranged for a spare wheel at the rear; no wheels are carried on the side. We will let you know later when this car will be ready to bring to WW. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
