3 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}1/VS.{J. Vickers}30.9.40. 40 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Type 'BD{Mr Berend}' Naval Gun. Pedestal Mountings. According to advice notes received from the L.M.S. the first three pedestal type mountings are being charged against our order No.A.26968 issued at your request (Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/ML.29.8.40.) to cover manufacture of one sample gun mounting to scheme drawing QPL.124. Air Ministry Contract No.S/53324 is quoted on the official order. In view of the fact that all three mountings are being supplied to the Admiralty, should not our official order be withdrawn and the L.M.S. requested to charge the cost of manufacture against their Admiralty contract for the bulk supply of pedestal mountings ? We are retaining the advice notes pending a decision on this point. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} | ||
