458. To. BY FROM Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re B.50 Body Weights. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17/E24838 Copy to Mr.Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} When we heard that the first body came out about 12 cwt. I asked Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} to try to ascertain what was the weight of a standard 4-light saloon with division on the Humber Snipe Imperial chassis, seeing that this was the body that we were using as our guide for dimensions. He has now learnt confidentially that the weight of the Humber body is 12 cwt. and the complete car weighs no less than 41 cwt. without petrol. The question of 4-light or 6-light would not make a great deal of difference to the body weight although the 6-light would probably be slightly heavier. I thought the above information would be of interest but it does not of course mean that we should not try to make our bodies lighter! Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
