We recently had a complaint that one of the 25 HP. Trials Cars fitted with controllable dampers was not giving the desired soft ride. On examination two faults were found.(a) The minimum governor pressure was over 2 lbs/sq.in. instead of 1 lb. or under. (b) the rear damper initial loads were 55 lbs. instead of 40 lbs. We have also had a complaint of a knock from a front Th.II damper on 27-RY (Burgess), which was due to excessive clearance for the high pressure sleeve under the damper valve. This was .019" instead of .005". These items show that greater care is necessary during production. He/Les. | ||
