E.R. Hall's Car.

This chassis will be in on Monday next, the 11th inst. to be brought up to the Le Mans specification. Mr. Hudless, the R.A.C. man, will also be here to inspect the engine unit, which should therefore be available. We should show him any one of the Le Mans type heads which are available. With regard to the engine unit, we should be sure that we have -

(1) The larger oil pump.

(2) The gallery pipe as used in the T.T.

We should show Hudless the type of oil feed we propose to use for the bottom half.

The following is a brief specification of the work which requires carrying out on the chassis :-

(1) Road springs - Rear to be as run at Shelsley, light type; front standard.

(2) Radiator - Lightened type at present standard on production. This may require an interchange of bottom tanks to suit Hall's car's mounting.

(3) Brakes - These should be lined with anti-fade material pending the completion of N.Sch.4796/8 aluminium drums.

(4) Bottom Half - should be fitted with oil level indicator and automatic feed.

(5) Cooling louvres to be cut in the top of the bonnet, but not where there is any chance of oil being flung on to them and so on to the windscreen.

(6) Larger oil tank and new instrument board supports.

(7) The existing dual petrol pipe line to the tank should be retained so that the car will not be put out of action in case one pipe fractures. All the pipe lines should be inspected and annealed.
