AMMETERS
FOR BENTLEY AND "PHANTOM II" ROLLS-ROYCE.

With reference to your complaint that the ammeter needles on the above instruments do not return to zero after use, we have taken this matter up with Westons and they have now informed us that they are working on a cure for this trouble and that it will be two weeks before they have anything definite to offer.

In the meantime we have no option, therefore, than to fit these ammeters and Westons have proffered to change them all over when they have solved the difficulty.

Will you, therefore, please arrange to send to the Stores for return to Westons the ammeters which have earthed to the case and have sticking needles, but retain those which work O.K. but do not return to zero.

Westons are sending a further 14 Bentley ammeters and 10 Rolls-Royce type to-day.

With regard to the breakdown to earth : this they say they cannot understand as each instrument is tested on 500 v.{VIENNA} before leaving their works.
