F.J. HARDY. To: "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", DERBY. 1245 PARIS Sr21/Dm{D. Munro}23.11.38 AH re Michelin Wheels. Referring to our previous correspondence I have now received a letter from the Michelin people in which they inform me that they will be delivering to us 4 wheels fitted with tyres. They point out that these wheels are not yet of current manufacture. They have been specially made, and are therefore to be considered as a "knock-up job". Although they are quite certain of the strength of these wheels, and insist that you can carry out any tests you may desire with them, they consider that you should not exaggerate any tests of long duration whilst running on flat tyres. I do not suppose you intend to run on flat tyres in any case?! Furthermore, owing to the difficulty in balancing the wheels, they insist that the numbers: WR.444,108 ) should be fitted and " " 112 ) to the front and " " 107 ) be fitted " " 109 ) to the rear. I shall be interested to hear what results you obtain in due course. S h- | ||
