| To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} x263 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KW.30.9.35. B-23-AE. We have allotted B-17 unit to be fitted to this car. This is at present waiting for Hall's metal bearings and 10" Borg & Beck clutch. Whilst waiting for the unit we should like you to arrange for the noise insulation scheme to be carried out on this car, and also for the floorboards to be gone over. At present it appears that a great deal of noise is coming through the floorboards, and they also are not standard; there is possibly some reason for this. Will you also please get a set of loose covers made for the car. Other points which should be attended to in the garage are :- (1) Exhaust system noisy - this requires lagging. (2) Brakes completely inefficient, the servo should be examined. (3) Shock absorber knocking. (4) The sunshine roof rattles badly and should be screwed up solid if it cannot be cured in any other way. Points which require attention when the car is in the shop are :- (1) Latest thin rim steering wheel fitting. (2) Standard 10/41 rear axle, new front axle and pivots. (3) Latest isolated change speed lever. (4) Standard oil pump. (5) Bumper bar fitting. (6) Dynamo not charging properly. We shall be glad if you will go over the car and note any other points requiring attention. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
