Y4199 To D/L. From Ir. c.c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Ir.6/MJ.25.9.34. ACCIDENT TO BENTLEY CAR 3-B-1V. Herewith particulars of mishap I had with the above car on Saturday afternoon, the 22nd. inst., when running into Warrington. It was raining at the time and I was proceeding in a stream of traffic at 30/35 M.P.H. when the car in front of me slowed down. On the application of my brakes, the car skidded badly, turned round almost immediately through 180°, and struck the front car. The offside rear mud guards of the two cars came into collision whilst a lorry proceeding in the opposite direction bumped the spare wheel cover. On examination of the road surface afterwards a good deal of oil was spread about. This, together with the fact that I was near the tramlines accounts for the skid. Ir. | ||
