We are getting concerned about the possibility of our being faced with heavy expenditure in replacing Tappets and Camshafts on Phantom III cars in service. At the moment we have no positive cure, although we have on test a modified design of camshaft using barrel tappets.

This, if successful, would still be a very expensive retrospective modification, but, if no other solution is forthcoming, it will have to be faced.

On the other hand, we are persisting in our efforts to find a more simple solution, but we are handicapped by not having a car with hydraulic tappets on which we can try anything experimental. We wondered, therefore, whether you have an Ex. Trials Car, or second-hand car, which we can run for a few weeks. It should of course be prior to "D" Series. Would you kindly let us know if you can help us in this direction.
