February 3rd 1921.

Dear Sirs,

Reference Purchasing Dept.

With further reference to my letter of the 29th ult. regarding the Belt that I hope to put on the market when the opportunity presents its-self, and I have completed my arrangements for the manufacture of same.

As I have not had the pleasure of a reply from your Goodselves, I take the liberty of handing you a small hand made sample for your inspection, if you will kindly examine same you will find that I have taken the strain from the leather and put it on the centre brass bearing which is reinforced by a Steel Screw, the size is the 3/8" size made with a shorter link which has a decided advantage when going round a small pulley.

I have a few sample belts made by hand, and if you care to test one, I shall be pleased to let you have one, if you will kindly favour me with the length.

For your information I may say that one of the belts has been under test on a five ton Peerless Lorry belonging to one of the local Breweries, and after constant running for a few days showed no sign of stretch.

Any further details I shall be pleased to furnish, should you requre them.

Trusting to receive a faourable reply.

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd) L. Essenhigh.
