Mr. A.Embiricos

The work on this car has been completed, and the car was delivered yesterday, June 14th to Dover, F.{Mr Friese} A.{Mr Adams} Embiricos's mother being picked up on the way.

When Mr. A.{Mr Adams} Embiricos called at Kingsbury his chief complaint was the hard riding of the car. When tried along with Mr. Clark, the hand control for the dampers was found to give no result. Mr. A.{Mr Adams} Embiricos wanted softer road springs fitting (but suspecting that the damper loads had been increased, as usual practice in Paris) we promised to look into the job and give him a softer ride. On checking the hydraulic damper loads the Fronts were found 130-140 lbs. Rear 100-120. With these initial loadings the damper control has little effect, and in England the ride is terribly hard, with no possible way to soften it.

We reduced the initial poundage of such dampers to Front 90 lbs. approx. Rear 80 lbs. approx. This gave a much softer ride, and in my opinion should be satisfactory with the use of the hand control in France.

SPEEDOMETER.

The trip recorder was not working. The instrument was returned to the makers and corrected.

The Dynamo charge indicator lamp was not working.

The fault was due to the looseness of the fittings behind the instrument.

ENGINE

A road test of 100 miles was taken u on receiving the Car. The M.P.G worked out at 400.

Upon dismantling the cylinder head, the Inlet Valves and induction pipe (inside) was smothered in oil.

A quantity of oil was coming out of the fan pulley drive - also past No. 7 bearing into the clutch pit.

Upon dismantling the cylinder block and testing the Conn. rods, the following faults were found.
