Instruction to revert to the original heat treatment for pistons following a failure analysis at Brooklands.

BY.1/J.31.10.33. Bentley Pistons. Will you kindly note that it has now been demonstrated that the failure of the Bentley Pistons at Brooklands was due to a faulty valve. Under these circumstances it is desired to revert immediately to the original treatment as given to all our standard pistons namely, rough machining and before grinding the pistons should be given a treatment for 70 hours at 160 to 180°C.
