ANTI FREEZING COMPOUNDS.

With reference to A.4/H.18.3.32., we are at the moment not quite clear on the patent position regarding the use of ethylene-glycol as an anti freezing compound. Prestone is covered by a U.S. patent and we are trying to ascertain the nature of the patent; we are rather of the opinion that it covers the use of ethylene glycol as an anti freezing compound, if this is not so one wonders why no other concerns apart from Prestone market it, especially in view of the publicity that has been given to the ill effects caused by using glycerine.

Until we know the patent position we cannot approach to I.C.I. on the subject.
