RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/EM.4/MJ.7.3.38. (RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} absent.) MINUTES OF CHASSIS CONFERENCE HELD AT DERBY, MONDAY 7.3.38. Present - Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. JRD. EM. BENTLEY. OVERDRIVE GEARBOX, AXLE GEARS, & MODIFIED CAMSHAFT. It was decided to introduce the Overdrive Gearbox, 10 x 43 Rear Axle Gears, and modified Camshaft at the 1st. Chassis in 'M' Series at a total Scrap figure of approx. £1,000. 'M' Series to commence in order to complete 25 Chassis prior to the end of July. Of 'M' Series only 125 Chassis are to be produced instead of 200 as stipulated in the existing Schedule making a total of Bentley for the year of 221. The Schedule is to be re-arranged and submitted for approval. ---------------- 25/30 HP. The Programme as submitted is not to be altered and will be completed by April 2nd. ---------------- PHANTOM III. The Overdrive Gearbox is to be brought in at the 86th. Chassis in 'D' Series at a Scrap Cost of approx. £400. The delivery of 15 Chassis incorporating this modification to be completed prior to the end of July. The programme is to be modified to incorporate this change and submitted for approval. ---------------- WRAITH. The total number of Wraith, i.e. 312 to be produced this year was agreed upon. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} however requested that the Schedule should be modified in order to spread the deliveries over a more extended period. ---------------- RHC{R. H.
