M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} W.A.Robotham,Esq., Date 9.7.31. Page 3 which you will notice is very much longer in this gauge than the normal gauges, which causes me to believe that the particulars which we have here of the calibrations are correct, namely, a pint or so of the last gallon coming actually in the filler and in the tank vent, with the front portion of the tank air locked at certain angles. I am giving you this as a possible explanation, not putting it forward in any way as a certainty, but I enclose a sketch showing it as a quite possible happening. I shall be interested to hear how this gauge progresses on its test, and if there is anything further which I can do with regard to the other single line gauge outfit, I shall be only too glad to assist. As promised we are preparing a spare unit top in skeleton form, and hope to forward this to you in the course of a day or two. It has been rather badly handled since our original tests were made; it is merely for your information and not for a working sample. Yours sincerely, H.P.Beazlyt. | ||
