LOW INERTIA SPRING DRIVE.

We are issuing a standardisation sheet for the Low Inertia Spring Drive incorporated with the balanced crankshaft. The following are the springs used and the loadings needed :-

Driving Springs Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}469a, outer Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}486, inner load 17 lbs at 17.5" radius.

Damping Springs E.56208, free length .725", 4 springs to be left out, as per Grylls.
Friction load 15 - 16 lbs. at 17.5" radius.
