Utility test of Spark-Coil or Magneto. X.430
In place of high non-inductive resistances the secondary of a second standard RR ignition-coil was connected across the gap of a standard RR battery ignition, and various resistances used in its primary.
A single gap with third point was used.
9.5 mm. Max-gap with second coil disconnected = .375"
5.6 mm. With second coil, primary open = .22"
3.8 mm " Carbon resistance loose across primary = .15"
1.75 mm. " " " " tight across primary = .07"
