To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.7500 DAL/M27.2.26. EAC. 8. DASHBOARD In view of the possibility that the increased rigidity of this dashboard may bring up some strains that have not been noticeable before on account of the comparatively flexible fixings, we think it would probably be well to leave out one of the vertical bolts that stay the dashboard to the frame edgewise, only retaining that on the steering column side. We do not mean of course remove the boss on the casting but we think the first experimental car should be minus this bolt. Subsequently the chassis could be tried with the bolt tightened up.
