| 3. up with the 0.137" measured. We then pulled the valve full open until the bellows plate was up against the bypass seating and the valve lift was found to be 0.280" i.e. 0.143" extension beyond free position. Attached sheet gives these dimensions in tabular form. Hence with the two units supplied it appears that - (1) When bellows are punctured the valve will not move to the full open position - they could not possibly have had free lengths such that the bellows plate touches the bypass seat before seating in view of your quoted bellows length of 1.437". (2) With the high water temperatures 85 - 90°C. the bellows will be extended beyond their free position. In view of the fact that item (1) does not fulfil what we require and that you yourselves have assured us that it is unsound practice to have a bellows working extended beyond its free length, these units do not appear to be very satisfactory- we would like to hear from you on this subject by return if possible.
