BENTLEY 60. INLET VALVE PUSH RODS IN
.4 CARBON STEEL.

As requested by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}will you please issue a detail of a .4 carbon steel push rod for the inlet valve operation, made exactly to the same dimensions as the Wraith 111 push rod, except for the following :-

(1). Overall length to be 10.800".

(2). The spherical ball end and the spherical cup only to be machined, the stem of the rod is not machined.

(3). Material is .4 carbon steel produced from .3125 + 5 - 5 diameter bar with cupped end jumped up, and produced by the Belgrave Engineering Co.

These rods are required for use on the B.60 cast iron engine, as an alternative to the Duralumin rods at present instructed to E.CD.403 in order to reduce costs.

Will you please instruct as soon as possible.
