Dear Sirs,

With further reference to your letter of the 17th and ours of the 22nd, we regret the delay in replying to the last paragraph with regard to delivery and price of the Roller Assembly to B.9828.

Since our quotation of the 13th October last the Factory position has altered very considerably and the section through which this work would require to go is fully occupied and will be for a very considerable period.

We have looked into the position from every possible angle and have explored every possibility with a view to quoting you a reasonable delivery, but owing to the large orders which we have received on the Armament programme we are very much afraid that we must regretfully suggest that you endeavour to obtain these supplies from another source.

We feel sure you will appreciate our position but think you will agree that it would be unfair for us to take these orders without putting this delivery situation frankly before you. Had the circumstances remained as they were in October, when we first quoted you, we should, of course, have been only too happy to take on this work although it is a little outside our usual production, and we regret exceedingly those developments which have created the present situation.

Yours faithfully,
RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO.LTD.,

GENERAL MANAGER.
