X. 4333 Further Tests of Z Brushes.
Dynamo 288 has been run for a further five days (averaging 8 hours each) with changing polarity on alternate days. The machine was arranged to complete a cycle of starting, working up to high speed, and stopping about three times per minute.
On three days, the polarity was normal, being reversed on the other two.
The commutation & general performance, was about the same on either polarity and the brush-surfaces were in good condition at the end of each day.
Intermittent running is a less severe test than continuous running on a good load.
