- 5 - Consumption: 12 L.162 for 100 Kms., at 130 k.p.h. It is an astounding feat! I must add, however, that in a previous test on an hour's running at Montlhéry, this same car had burnt 23 litres at a speed of 174 and on certain laps 177 k.p.h. Speed cannot be obtained for nothing, but with this car, 130 k.p.h. is an easy and cheap cruising speed. For the 1800 Kms. of our trip, the oil consump-tion was 2 litres. We know, of course, that the above figures only have that value which you will be kind enough to assign to our unofficial trials, without Automobile Club time keepers. Very soon, however, we shall be able to check them up against the results obtained from official tests at Montlhéry over an hour's running and later on, so we believe, over 24 hours' running. As far as we are concerned, we feel confident that the "Streamline" will complete this 24 hour test as it first starts on it, without fuss or untoward incident. It must be added, even at the risk of paining our old friend Lethorey, Manager of the Montlhéry Autodrome, that the Montlhéry track is definitely slower than the German Autobähne. And yet, we feel quite satisfied that the performance which the "Streamline" Bentley will realise there will be such that you will not find our present enthusiasm ridiculous. x x x | ||
