Hanbury - Head Complaints} Royce Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Derby. Dear Mr. Royce, I am pleased to tell you that I have now got delivery of my Bentley, and I want to thank you for putting the idea of a Bentley into my head. Quite frankly, I had got the opinion that it was a car that was out of my reach: I thought it was too expensive a luxury, and that people would only say I was making too much profit and all that kind of silly tosh. Now I realise that it is something entirely different from anything else I have had. I picked it up last Friday in London, and I drove it home, and I was really thrilled and interested the whole way down. I am as proud of it as anything I have ever had, and I want to thank you very much for putting the idea into my head that I ought to have a Bentley. I am now convinced I ought to have had it years ago! Still, now it has come I am delighted. Yours sincerely, [Signature of J.W. Howlett] [Handwritten bottom left: initials and 19/12/-] | ||
