Dear Sirs,

Can you please let us have the complete steel specification used for our large coil springs such as G.83270/1, G.83692, G.83698 etc ?

We wre under the impression that these were made from your special high carbon steel, however upon testing one of your springs which has failed, we find the material is Silico-Manganese steel.

It is very important that we should know the type of steel whilst we are carrying out comparative tests.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
