Hollingworth}30.8.41. 1044 With regard to the second pair of brake drums which we sent down for B.34.AW, we apologise for sending rear ones instead of fronts. However, there are no fronts to be had, so you took the only possible course in stealing a pair off another chassis. As the drums are finished machined after assembly to the hubs, it is not feasible to take the new drums off the rear hubs and fit to the front hubs you have, owing to the spigot not being sufficiently accurate. Therefore, your only course will be to put the worn out drums on to the car you took the new ones off, so that you will still be able to push it about. We should be much obliged if you would return the second pair of rear drums and hubs to us. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Clm.{D. D. Clapham} | ||
