87090. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RE: NITRO-ALLOY CAMSHAFTS Of the two sets of camshafts and rocker mechanism in nitro-alloy requested by Capt. Forsyth, one set has been completed and placed on test, and have picked up badly on the cams and the rocker wearing surfaces. This picking up is general and it would appear that the material is unsuitable for this duty. No material is yet in stock for the second set, but in view of the failure referred to, are we to proceed with the ordering of further material? RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} | ||
