457 PN{Mr Northey}2/DN14.10.25. TO Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM PN{Mr Northey} Steering Wobbles. Resulting from our conversation when you were at Conduit Street last, when you informed me that you had been able to decide definitely that steering wobbles could not take place with our "Phantom" at speeds within its capacity, provided that the wheels were balanced properly within our limit of 2 ozs. with the tyre pressures down to as low as 35 lbs. - thirty-five Acting on this information I have instructed that all our Demonstration cars in London during the Motor Show shall have the front tyres at 45 lbs per square inch, in order that we may be able to give the best impression possible in respect of comfort. forty-five Probably there will be no high speed trials given during the few days, but if there are, we shall naturally be guided in respect of this lower tyre pressure by results. Meanwhile, you will remember our instructions to owners are that the tyre pressures in front shall not fall below 50 lbs. PN{Mr Northey} P.N. Will you please confirm this this is O.K. by return P.N. | ||
