In view of the considerable number of complete cars turned out with the above fitted and certain features in the running of the car caused by the fitting of these discs, it is suggested that at least one of the Experimental cars should be run with a set of these discs fitted, not with the idea of standardising them, but with the idea of ascertaining the cause, and if possible the cures for these troubles we have experienced with the discs fitted. Certain axle periods and booms have been traced as being definitely due to the fitting of discs on the wheels, and it is possible that some improved method of fitting or some additional device may enable us to still to use these discs without having to put up with the disadvantages. There is also the question of our being able to make sure that the spare wheel fitted with disc can be carried in the existing spare wheel carrier. The most popular type of disc at present is the "Ace" type. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
