RE BUGATTI CAR.
With reference to the above Mr Royce wishes to try a Claudel Hobson carburetter so as to obtain a comparison with the existing Zenith system.
Would you kindly communicate with Messrs Claudel Hobson and ask them what size of carburetter they recommend for an engine of 75 m/m bore and 105 m/m stroke. Mr Royce is of the opinion that the 30 m/m Zenith at present fitted to this engine with 16 m/m choke tube is too large to get good results all the way down the scale and thinks that a possibly suitable size for the Claudel Hobson would be 20 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} The carburetter selected should have a flanged joint.
Mr Hives has been dealing with the matter of rigging up a Claudel Hobson carburetter on the Bugatti and perhaps he would say if he has been able to arrange anything.
Mr Royce thinks if we actually had a carburetter down here we should possibly be able to see more quickly what is required.
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
