Also on this design we show in Fig.111 an alternative type of single start shallow oil retaining thread at the rear end of crankshaft, which we think will be more efficient than the standard oil thread. This should be tried out on some future crankshaft for comparative effectiveness. Standard type oil plugs in bores of pins and journals are to be used except in the rear journal.
