Re: Chassis No. 2-B-IV.
--------------------

The following is extract of note from 'Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}'
in regard to this car :-

"The question of whether we give this chassis an 'A'
or 'B' number really depends on whether the
specification conforms to 'A' or 'B' series.

Having been Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s car, it is quite possible it was
from time to time brought up to date, and I would
therefore prefer to wait your further information on
this before deciding whether it should be an 'A' or
'B' number. Would you please let me know as soon as
you have the additional information you are seeking.

Incidentally Works want ½ doz. Bentley cars to be
specified by Sales for the purpose of fitting lead
bronze bearings, and if this chassis has not already been
equipped with lead bronze bearings it could be done
while the car is at W.

Having regard to this fact and to the work that is
being done to the car, will you please let us know
when we may expect to have it in London, as we may
decide to use it as a second or emergency demonstration
car if in performance it is better than B-52-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} which
we are at present using."

Will you please say if it is possible for
you to fit lead bronze bearings to this chassis. Please also
advise us when you hope to have the car delivered.

It will be noted that Sales Dept. are anxious
to ascertain what series the chassis conforms to in order that
we can suitably re-number it. Can you give us this
information, please?

We also have a list of the L.O.Ps and this
we have sent to 'Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}' in order that he may assist us in
supplying the type of chassis; so far he has not been able to
do this.
