For the attention of Mr.Rackham.

Dear Sirs,

We are very interested at the moment in the question of cylinder materials and wear. We do not know whether or not your knowledge of the subject is available, but if it is we should be greatly obliged for information on the following points:-

(1) Do you fit separate liners.?
(2) What material do you use and what is its hardness?
(3) What is the usual rate of wear in a bus engine?
(4) What material do you use for the piston rings, and what is its hardness.?
(5) Do you fit aluminium pistons.?

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
