| Martindale - 261 S/W To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Raymond Mays. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/E21.10.36 With further reference to recent correspondence we are sending a car on loan to him on Tuesday morning the 27th and our man will have instructions to bring his car to you for attention to the brakes. In a letter to me he mentions that the engine has developed a slight thump and roughness, particularly between 1500 and 3000 revs when accelerating hard on the lower gears. You might please have the car specially tried for this. He is also going to send a list of other items to which he would like attention givenbut, if any of these come under the heading of ordinary wear and tear, please let me know as we ought to charge him. Please keep me in touch with it once you have got the car and, when it is ready to go back, perhaps the best way will be for us to send a man up to take it to Bourne and bring our car back.
