TO DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Handwritten: 48470 'V' SERIES - ACCELERATOR PEDAL CONTROL. We send you herewith drawing LeC. 2090. shewing the connection from the accelerator pedal to the engine controls, set out shewing a shorter lever on the step aside countershaft under the bonnet. This is in response to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} request for less pedal movement, and shews that it can be got in by using a .875" lever in place of the present 1" lever, and the pull rod still clears the engine cross tube. We should be glad if you would now deal with the remaining portion of this job, namely, the pedal position. Mr. Royce has agreed to some shortening of the pedal stroke as his car has already been altered. We shew on this drawing the positions we have taken from the car here. We presume there is some stop on the accelerator pedal for the full open position, so that the controls do not have to carry the weight and pressure of the foot.
