P.2. PETROL PUMP.

We send here with Lec. 2806 shewing the above.

All the parts of the pump and driving mechanism without exception are interchangeable for R.H. and L.H. chassis.

The pump head should be turned round and the suction and delivery pipes should be crossed in the case of the L.H. chassis. This avoids making 2 different heads.

There are no alterations to the crankchamber beyond tapping the present hole in the top through which the con. rod of the vacuum pump passes, and this we do not think will interfere with interchangeability.

A new camshaft gear wheel is required having an eccentric of very small thrown and a slight modification is required to the front camshaft bearing.

The complete pump can be removed from the engine by knocking out two of the head bolts and detaching the magneto control shaft bracket. This leaves enough room for the pump to be lifted off its studs.

In connection with this pump it will be necessary to use a service tank high up on the dash having an overflow back to the main fuel tank at the rear of the chassis.

An air vent with automatic valve will be provided for this tank, the valve being required for closing the vent when descending steep inclines.
