PEREGRINE TOOL KIT.

Before completing the list of spares and tools for Peregrine, it will be necessary to come to a decision on several points.

(1) Hub removal. Some special tools will be required if we decide that it is necessary to provide tools for removing hubs. It may be remembered that these tools were recently deleted from P.II and 20/25 HP. car kits and soon afterwards a case of brakes seizing on could not be rectified because no tools were available.

(2) Valve Springs. Special tools will be required for changing valve springs without removing the cylinder head. If it is decided to be necessary to provide for this contingency, if we provide spare valve springs it is logic to provide the means to fit them.

(3) Sparking Plugs. Is it still considered necessary to provide spare sparking plugs. (We now give two away with each chassis.

(4) Tyre Pump. The present Westhill pump may be considered too large and costly for this chassis. We suggest that the Kincman hand pump (submitted some little time back), should be considered as an alternative.

(5) Jack. The present wheel jack will be too large for the car; we are looking for something more suitable.

(6) Special Tools. A special effort should be made at this juncture to ensure that it will not be necessary to provide special spanners suitable for one job only. The engine, gearbox, and axle drain plugs etc, should be of a size that can be handled by the usual jaw spanner or box spanner. Some modifications were made recently on the 20/25 HP. and P.II. on these lines with a consequent saving in cost and bulk of the tool kit. We should try and start off this car with the minimum amount of tools, both in quantity and bulk, consistent with there being sufficient of them to handle all jobs which we expect to be necessary when in customer's hands.
