(6) I propose that we should consult with the Ricardo people on the subject of pistons, before deciding to return to cast iron pistons, which were far from satisfactory in the past. I hear that the Ricardo Co. are doing consider-able work in supplying aluminium pistons; inducing people to buy by stating their many advantages which we have already found. I was rather agreeably surprised to find their design of piston promised advantages, for both the plunger and this latest pattern of this. If you cannot get our adjustable, collapsable type ready in time, it would be worth while for the car to have them fitted after its first few thousand miles when some of the other novel parts were being examined.
