EXPERIMENTAL REPORT X8793 EFC7/T. 25th April, 1927. Messrs. The Lucas Elect. Co.Ltd., Well Street, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. W.E. Robinson. Dear Sirs, ERS MAGNETO. We have now received back from you Lucas type ERS magneto No.53A, together with an interchangeable jump spark distributor and rotor. We, however, understood from your telephone conversation, and also from your letter of the 8th inst., that you would be sending in place of this an uptodate machine representative of your latest products which would "incorporate some detailed improvements that have been adopted since we had the batch of ERS magnetos some considerable time ago." We have noticed, for instance, that the platinum points on this machine are not new, whereas we had the impression that you have a new and improved platinum point material, and we anticipated that this would be fitted to the magneto sent to us. Possibly your letter means that you are sending yet another magneto, but the arrangement to which we had agreed was that you were sending one of your completely up-to-date machines in place of the one returned. Would you please enlighten us in this matter. The undersigned feels that it is to your advantage at this juncture to supply us with the best which you know of. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
