COMPARISON OF GENERAL BEHAVIOUR OF P & R
RRI1-1 & EXIDE 6RR5-2.
40/50 HP. STANDARD BATTERIES.

Both of these batteries were received on
16.6.24 in a fully charged condition and were put through
our Routine Bench Tests. In the case of the P & R
the following results were obtained :-

First a low rate discharge was taken through
an invariable external resistance of 1.80 ohms and
52.8 ampere hours were realised. Then followed a high
rate discharge through an invariable external resistance
of .100 ohm.

Initial amperes = 110.3
Time to 104 amps. = 9.4 mins.
" " 100 " = 12.8 "
" " 90 " = 15.4 "
" " 80 " = 17.7 "

A further low rate discharge was then taken
and 53 ampere hours were realised.

In the case of the Exide on the 1st. low
rate discharge 86.6 ampere-hours were realised and on the
high rate discharge -

Initial amperes = 110.0
Time to 104 amps. = 11.5 mins.
" " 100 " = 16.6 "
" " 90 " = 21.9 "
" " 80 " = 23.1 "

Following this was a further low rate
discharge when 80.6 ampere hours were realised.
