Referring to the question of the supply of "SS{S. Smith}" chassis to the above in a letter received from Mr.Fuller he says:

"What we seriously need in addition to the right-hand drawings, which are en route, are the following:

An experimental "SS{S. Smith}" chassis. A right-handed "SS{S. Smith}" chassis will do but we should have this at the earliest possible date. This is for the purpose of familiarizing ourselves with it in its essential details, along with study of the drawings and testing it for performance under American conditions of use. Of course, we should expect to pay for this right-handed "SS{S. Smith}" experimental chassis."

Would you please let me know whether we can now spare one of our own right-hand chassis without detriment to ourselves? If so, which one etc.

When the Phantom was introduced I understand that we supplied them with an early standard production chassis, and it entirely rests with us to decide what we let them have in this instance.

I should like to have your recommendations after the matter has been carefully considered.
