Noisy Petrol Pumps.

To a certain extent these can be attributed to manufacture, and we have taken the matter up with S.U's. However, we believe there will always be complaints of noisy petrol pumps as long as this unit is located under the bonnet.

Smoother Engine - Deturbulated Cylinder Head.

This will continue to run in France. We think we want considerable experience of it before we put it on production.

Improved Idling.

The Graham scheme, consisting of an experimental cylinder head, camshaft, and induction pipe, is now on test.

Brakes.

We are going ahead with the anti-jagger device for the 20/25. Though we have not had actual jaggers on this model it has always suffered from bad brake thumps. Our experience so far indicates that the balance weight reduces thumps. Now that we have got the anti-jagger scheme we could if necessary fit light alloy drums to the 20/25, which would overcome the overheating which certainly takes place at present when these cars are driven hard with the larger engine unit.

It will be remembered that on the car now running in France the front brakes were worn out after 7,000 miles' use. On the whole, however, we recommend that our energies are concentrated on Wraith.
