With reference to the last paragraph of your CWB5/GM/6.12.27. This I have done, but am afraid I have not got very much sympathy in regard to any question of alteration to design, which I was afraid would be the case as explained to you when we discussed this matter in London on the 6th. inst.

In thrashing this matter out with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} it would appear that the only way in which this feature will receive any sympathy from the point of view of design is for you to submit the case to R.{Sir Henry Royce}
