IN YOUR REPLY PLEASE QUOTE DEPARTMENT No A-2 27 Apr 1934 W A Robotham Esq Rolls-Royce Limited Derby Dear Mr Robotham: Many thanks for your letter of the 21st instant. My return journey from the United States was without incident, but I was glad to be back in England again especially in view of the fact that I had not been at all well for some weeks whilst in Detroit, but am pleased to say that I am now fully recovered once again. The question of oil consumption is still occupying our attention, and although much improvement has been effected we are still working for better results. With regard to your enquiry about the thermostatically operated bonnet side shutters fitted to our Lincoln cars, this is not a new departure by any means, and is included in the specification of all the latest Lincoln cars now in this country. I enclose herewith one of our Lincoln leaflets, which includes an illustration of one of the ventilators, showing the thermostat referred to, and also attach an extract from our Lincoln Manual on the same subject, which gives the specification in more detail. I hope this will meet the case, but if your query is not fully dealt with, kindly communicate with me again and I will endeavour to have it checked into further. With kind regards, Yours sincerely FORD MOTOR COMPANY LTD [Signature] General Manager ARS:R Encl: [STAMP: NATIONAL SCHEME FOR DISABLED MEN] ALL STATEMENTS OR AGREEMENTS CONTAINED IN THIS LETTER ARE CONTINGENT ON STRIKES, ACCIDENTS, FIRES, OR ANY OTHER CAUSES BEYOND OUR CONTROL AND ALL CONTRACTS ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE SIGNATURE OF A DULY AUTHORIZED EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THIS COMPANY.
