X1336 HEAD OFFICE AND FACTORY: INCHINNAN, RENFREWSHIRE INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LTD. MILEAGE DEPARTMENT (AREA "B") 80 CLAPHAM ROAD LONDON, S.W.9 OUR REF. R/WBT. YOUR REF. TELEPHONES: RELIANCE 2662/3 Dictated: 30.11.1935. 2nd December, 1935. W.A. ROBOTHAM, ESQ., Experimental Department, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Robotham, With reference to our conversation yesterday, I confirm that I am asking the factory to send you five covers and tubes, 6.50-16 Aero Cushion, 6-ply. I am also arranging for the trial sets of 7.00-18 which were returned to us from London to be sent to you at Derby, as you kindly said I might do so. I am not quite certain how many tyres are involved - there are not more than two sets, and there may only be one. I am also taking up with Mr. Worth the question as to whether the silent tread could be used for the Aero Cushion tyres. I will let you know as soon as I hear from him; or possibly he may write you direct on the subject. I should be most interested to hear of any further developments regarding tyres on the 'Phantom lll' in due course. Very many thanks indeed for my excellent lunch. Yours sincerely, Rothes- | ||
