To even out supply of carburetted mixture between a number of cylinders in a bank supplied by a single induction manifold and a number of supply passages leading to it from the carburetters, partitions are arranged on the inside of the induction manifold.

A pair of co-axial and spaced displaceable members formed as diaphragms or pistons are provided, one connected to the controlling means for fuel injection pump, with a lost motion device between this and the other member, a spring between the two members tends to hold them apart, a second spring exerts a pressure between the said member and a fixed abutment or damping device acts on second member and the members are moved in a direction for restricting the fuel supply by suction derived from the air intaking system of the engine.
