Dear Sirs:- We have now had an opportunity of thoroughly testing out by case-hardening and grinding the sample work we sent to you. Also the deposition in the worm case housing of the back-axle. We have real pleasure in complimenting you on the result-the shaft was carbonised and heat-treated and hardened out and ground to size. We find absolutely no signs of "peeling or chipping" and further more the new deposited surface is hard. In the case of the back-axle steel casting also the deposition is excellent. We have had a very considerable experienced with this class of work, as we have tried several firms, all of a turn have failed ignominiously, and therefore we feel all the more confident in felicitating your good selves on your undoubted success. We shall certainly send you all our work of this nature in the future. Would you be good enough to let us know what your charge in the ordinary way for the jobs we sent you, and which form the subject of this letter.
